After reading and annotating “Is it OK to make art?” the second time, I think I grasped onto more information. I read through it with a better idea and understanding of what the author was claiming. I believe what also helped was discussing this essay in small groups in class. I was in a group with two others which means I got two different perspectives. We worked together to explain things to each other that we were hung up on or just simply did not understand. One website that I used that helped me decode the text was dictionary.com. I found this sight very helpful because while I was reading I came across words that off the bat I did not know. I then looked those words up and put the word back into context knowing the definition and it made understanding this text a lot easier.
